Palmyra Community Library Monthly Board of Trustees Meeting July 21, 2016 6:30 PM @402 East Main Street Present: Jenifer Smyth, Kathy Wooden, Sandra Goehle, Deborah Nagle, Carolyn Bradstreet, Patricia Baynes (Director), Jennifer Voss (Clerk of the Works) Excused: Courtney Marr, Alicia Lynch Meeting Minutes: Upon motion duly made and seconded, the meeting minutes for June 2016 were approved. Director’s Report: Upon motion duly made and seconded, the director’s report for June 2016 was unanimously approved. Treasurer’s Report: Upon motion duly made and seconded, the treasurer’s report for June 2016 was unanimously approved. Motion duly made and seconded, unanimous approval of Abstract #7, which includes vouchers #2016-159 - #2016-186 in the amount of $48,588.58. Public Comment: No public comment was made. Grants: The Library is considering the purchase of a new microfilm reader and some new interior signage with the funds from the NYS Grant. 402 E. Main Street Building/Grounds: The Archive Room shelving has been installed. The installation of the new shoe molding has been scheduled. The paint lines and handicap symbols in the front parking area will be completed this summer season. The lowest bid was accepted for the repair and maintenance near the roof AC units. Jay Harding placed LED lights on both sides of the front sign. The Story Walk has been completed and it looks fantastic!! Over 35 LDS volunteers weeded, mulched and planted on July 14, 2016. Their efforts were greatly appreciated. Chuck West’s heating proposal is almost complete. We will be ready to accept bids by next month. Items for Discussion: The official naming, dedication, and Grand Opening date has been set for September 25, 2016 from 1-3pm. There will be both public and private invitations issued. Three candidates for Library Board of Trustees will be selected through public vote in October 2016. A list of potential candidates is being generated. John Bero will be asked to generate a proposal to improve the accessibility and overall ease of using the south entrance of the library. Next Regular Meeting: Thursday, August 18th, 2016
