Palmyra
Community Library
Hey Kids,
At the Palmyra Community Library, Sign up at the front desk. You will receive your first sticker and 100 book tracking sheet. You will also get a flower center circle to hang on our wall with your first name on it.
Once the sheet is completed, you can return it to get a free book! You also get a petal to hang on your flower in the 2nd floor hall and a new tracking sheet. This happens for every 100 books you read!
After you have read 1000 books, you get a t-shirt and your name goes onto our Master Gardeners Wall of Fame.
Are you ready to get started? Stop by the library to sign up!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
The key is perseverance. Make it exciting. When your child reaches a milestone, give him/her a small reward (stickers, backpacks, books).
Get ready to read!
For all children birth-age 6
The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler.
The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten.
Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started).
