INTER-LIBRARY LOAN 

-Books, videos and

audiobooks from other libraries can be

delivered to you at the Palmyra Library. The OWWL library catalog provides access to over one million items in Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, and Livingston counties. 

OWWL2GO 

-You can checkout and

download Audiobooks and

eBooks for listening and viewing on your personal computer. Audiobooks in WMA file format can also be transferred to compatible MP3 players or burned to CD. With the addition of titles in MP3 format, MP3 format Audiobooks can be transferred to most MP3 players, including iPods® and iPhones™!

 - Monthly programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

PRE-SCHOOL STORYTIMES
 -  Morning and evening, for two, three, four, and five- year-olds.

TEEN EVENTS - Cool activities for middle and high school students.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM -  Activities for all ages.

BABYSITTING COURSE  -  Offered annually for ages 11 and up.

PHOTOCOPIER  -  Just 15 cents a page

Fax Service-  $1 for 1st page, 50 cents for each additional page.

WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS and COMPUTERS -  Explore a wealth of information on the web.  To try out our "Hotspot" -  bring your OWWL card and laptop (if you have one or use one of ours). 9 computers are available to access the web.

SERVICES FOR SENIORS -  Pioneer offers a variety of kits available for loan to daycares, adult care facilities, group homes, families and classrooms around a particular theme. Pioneer also provides presentations for senior nutrition programs, Community Fairs, and activities departments. Outreach Services has available magnifying equipment and devices for hearing assistance for patrons, member libraries and meetings.

INCOME TAX FORMS -  Copy from IRS book or download from IRS web site.

 

BOOK SALE -  Organized every September and April by the Friends of the Library. FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY -  Join this active group of library supporters.  Call Maureen Ahern at (315) 597-2404.

 

HOMEBOUND DELIVERY - We will deliver library materials to any Palmyra resident who is unable to visit the library.

 

MEETING ROOMS - The Palmyra Community Library has four meeting rooms available for use by community groups and organizations.

BABYSITTING COURSE - Offered regularly throughout the year.

 

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT LOAN CLOSET  - A variety of medical equipment (walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, etc.) is available for loan to Palmyra and Macedon residents. Sponsored by the Palmyra Kings Daughters.

BORROWING PERIOD & LATE FEES 
 

Kids Read Free!  - No late fees on books and audiobooks borrowed from the Palmyra Library by children and teens under 18 years old.

Adults- Books, Magazines, and Audiobooks -  
3 Weeks   Fine: $.10 a day

Videos and DVDs- 
1 Week  Fine:  $1.00 a day

Magazines  -  Over 50 titles for reading pleasure and research. Also available online through Zinio.

Audiobooks  -  Listen to a book!

DVDS -  Feature films, classics, children's, travel, how-to.

Large Print  -  Fiction and non-fiction, easy on the eyes.

Children’s -  Books for pre-schoolers to elementary school-age children.

Young Adult -  Hardcover and paperback fiction and nonfiction for middle and high schoolers.

 

E-readers - Check out a Kindle preloaded with best sellers.

Video Games -  A variety of formats -DS, Wii, etc Check out for 3 weeks. 


Local History -  Reference books, indexed newspapers on microfilm, genealogy information.
